OUR SERVICES

  • Court-Ordered Services

Mayo Behavioral Health Services is an approved provider for the 19th Judicial District Recovery Court and the Veterans Treatment Court. Our programs are fully aligned with court requirements, including structured IOP and OP services, weekly progress reporting, random drug screening, and phase-specific treatment planning.

Recovery Court: We deliver evidence-based care that helps participants achieve abstinence, reduce recidivism, and build vocational and life skills. Our team collaborates with probation officers, case managers, and court staff to ensure compliance and support long-term success.

Veterans Treatment Court: We provide veteran-focused treatment that integrates trauma-informed care, structured IOP/OP, medication monitoring, and coordination with VA and community resources. Our clinicians work closely with the VTC team to help veterans meet court expectations and achieve lasting recovery.

By combining evidence-based treatment with the accountability of court-supervised programs, we help clients fulfill legal requirements while making real progress in their recovery journey.

If you are a probation officer, judge, or case manager seeking information about client referrals, please contact our Compliance Department at (225) 256-0110 or kmelancon@mayobehavioralhealth.org.

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

At Mayo Behavioral Health, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for individuals who need more structure than traditional outpatient care but do not require 24/7 residential treatment. This level of care is especially valuable for clients early in recovery, those at high risk of relapse, or individuals referred through the courts who require accountability and documented progress. Our IOP provides a minimum of 9 hours of services per week, combining:

Group therapy three times per week to address relapse prevention, coping skills, emotional regulation, and peer accountability

Individual counseling to focus on personal triggers, trauma, mental health needs, and phase-specific goals tied to Recovery Court or Veterans Treatment Court requirements.

Psychoeducation sessions covering addiction, mental health, relapse prevention, medication safety, and wellness.

Case management to help clients address practical needs such as housing, employment, medical care, court obligations, and linkage to community resources.

Random, observed drug testing to monitor abstinence and provide immediate accountability.

The program emphasizes evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Relapse Prevention (RP), and Trauma-Informed Care. Clients also develop a personalized relapse prevention plan and build connections with community recovery supports like AA/NA, Celebrate Recovery, and peer mentorship.

  • Outpatient Program (OP)

The risk of relapse is highest within the first few months after completing an addiction treatment program. Developing a comprehensive treatment plan for this period can provide much-needed support to prevent relapse. Our Outpatient Program (OP) is designed as a step-down level of care for clients who have completed IOP or who need continued treatment with less intensity. OP is ideal for maintaining progress, reinforcing recovery skills, and providing accountability during the vulnerable months after intensive treatment. Clients in OP participate in 3–6 hours of services per week, which may include:

Group counseling three times per week, focusing on relapse prevention, stress management, and life skills.

Individual counseling to support continued personal growth, address co-occurring mental health needs, and monitor ongoing progress.

Family sessions to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and provide education on recovery and relapse warning signs.

Case management to connect clients with vocational resources, housing support, medical care, and community programs that sustain recovery.

Psychoeducation on recovery maintenance, coping strategies, and wellness planning.

Random drug testing to support accountability and provide objective feedback to both clients and referral sources.

OP allows clients to apply the tools learned in IOP to real-world settings while still benefiting from structured clinical support. By blending therapy, education, and case management, OP provides the safety net needed to prevent relapse and promote stability in daily life.

  • Aftercare & Alumni Support

Recovery doesn’t end when formal treatment concludes — it is a lifelong journey. That’s why we provide a robust Aftercare and Alumni Program to help clients sustain their progress and remain connected to a supportive community. Aftercare at MBHS includes:

Weekly aftercare groups, led by licensed clinicians, that provide a safe space for clients to share challenges, celebrate milestones, and practice relapse prevention skills.

Alumni support network, giving clients opportunities to connect with peers who understand the recovery process and offer mutual encouragement.

Ongoing case management support for those who need continued assistance with housing, employment, healthcare, or navigating community resources.

Family involvement opportunities, where loved ones can continue to engage in education and support services to strengthen the recovery environment at home.

Annual alumni events and peer mentoring, offering long-term connection and opportunities for leadership within the recovery community.

Aftercare ensures that clients don’t face recovery alone once IOP or OP ends. Instead, they remain part of a community that fosters accountability, encouragement, and lifelong sobriety.
